WHY DID GOD CURSED AFRICANS? PART 6: According to Genesis, Nineveh was founded by Nimrod. Later, Nineveh became the capital of the Assyrian Empire—one of the greatest empires of the ancient world. It was the same empire that conquered the northern kingdom of Israel and deported the ten northern tribes in 722 BC. And Nineveh was the city to which God sent the prophet Jonah. It is the story almost everyone knows: Jonah and the great fish. But there is another dimension to the story. Jonah was a Hebrew prophet sent by God to a city associated with a descendant of Cush. Jonah resisted. He tried to flee to the opposite side of the Mediterranean world. But God brought him back onto his appointed path through a violent storm, three days of darkness, and the miraculous intervention of the great fish that eventually deposited him back on the shore.
