WHY DID GOD CURSE AFRICANS? PART 5: The kingdom of Cush became one of the most powerful civilizations of the ancient world. And it produced a figure who would change history: Nimrod. Nimrod was the most famous descendant of Cush. Genesis 10:8–9 describes him as: "The first mighty one on the earth... a mighty hunter before the Lord." The Hebrew word used to describe him, gibbor, was associated with warriors and leaders of extraordinary ability. The same word is used in connection with great warriors in the biblical narrative. Nimrod became the founder of Babel, Akkad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. He later expanded his kingdom into Assyria, where he established cities including Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah, and Resen. According to the biblical account, a descendant of Cush became the founder of some of the earliest cities associated with organized human civilization after the Flood. The Bible records this without presenting his African ancestry as a curse.....
