THE SPIRIT WHO GUARDED THE ANCIENT FOREST, Chapter Five: The Battle Against the Devourer, Led by Kiran, the villagers entered the Ancient Forest carrying no weapons. Instead, they brought young tree seedlings, fresh water, and gifts of gratitude. The Guardian Spirit appeared beside them. The forest trembled. From the poisoned earth rose the Devourer—a towering beast made of black smoke, broken branches, and glowing red eyes. "I grow stronger with every selfish choice!" it roared. Dark vines lashed toward the villagers. The Guardian fought with streams of emerald light. Still, the monster kept growing. Then Kiran remembered the spirit's words. The Devourer fed on greed. Not courage. He stepped forward and planted the first seedling beside the dying Heart Tree. One by one, every villager followed. Children watered the soil. Farmers laid down their axes. Hunters released trapped animals. With every act of kindness, the Devourer shrank. The Guardian's light grew brighter. Finally, one brilliant beam of green light pierced the monster's heart.....
